Plusbac Ingredients:
Understanding the Microorganisms

One of the defining features of Plusbac is its combination of selected microorganisms and fermented herbal ingredients. Understanding these components helps explain the product's formulation and the role microbial feed materials can play in animal nutrition.

Lactobacillus plantarum:

Lactobacillus plantarum is a species of lactic acid bacteria studied and used in a range of food and feed applications. It is associated with fermentation processes and the production of lactic acid under suitable conditions.

In animal nutrition, the properties of Lactobacillus plantarum depend on the specific strain, how it is prepared, its concentration and the intended use.

Within Plusbac, Lactobacillus plantarum is one of the named microorganisms in the product's microbial formulation. Its inclusion is relevant to understanding the fermented feed material and its intended role within an animal feeding programme.

Lactobacillus casei:

Lactobacillus casei is another species of lactic acid bacteria associated with fermentation and microbial feed applications.

Different strains of this species can have different characteristics. Consequently, the effects demonstrated for one strain or product cannot automatically be attributed to every preparation containing Lactobacillus casei.

As part of the Plusbac formulation, Lactobacillus casei contributes to the product's combination of microorganisms and fermented herbal ingredients.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae:

Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a species of yeast used in several food, fermentation and animal-feed applications. It is widely studied in animal nutrition, including research into microbial feed materials and digestive processes.

For horses and other animals, the relevance of a yeast-containing feed product likewise depends on its particular formulation and intended application.

Within Plusbac, Saccharomyces cerevisiae is one of the three named microorganisms. Its inclusion helps define the microbial composition of the product, alongside Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus casei.

It is important to assess the complete formulation rather than assume that the presence of a single microorganism guarantees a particular digestive or health outcome.
